Ramada Plaza Southport Wedding – Laura & Steve
Laura & Steve’s Ramada Plaza Southport wedding commenced with bridal preparations at Laura’s beautiful family home in Ainsdale. After documentary-style photographs of Laura and her bridesmaids preparing for the big day ahead, we took some posed photographs on the front lawn. They say you shouldn’t work with children or animals, but I have to say that the Appleby family canines were on their best behaviour and posed nicely for their special photos with Laura.
We made the short journey to St John’s Church in Birkdale, where Steve appeared to be composed and relaxed. Photos of Steve & best-man Mike were quickly followed by the arrival of bridesmaids in their beautiful purple dresses. I managed to take a few really nice natural shots of Laura and chief-bridesmaid Leanne as she helped Laura with her wedding dress upon exiting the vintage wedding car.
When I met Laura & Steve to discuss their wedding at Ramada Plaza Southport a couple of weeks before the wedding, they specifically requested shots taken in Southport landmarks to capture the location and the feel of the day. After group shots in the church grounds we travelled directly to the iconic bandstand on Lord Street to grab a quick photo before moving on to the Promenade to take shots walking along the pier, relaxing in one of the newly restored Victorian shelters in King’s Gardens, and on the delightful ‘Golden Gallopers’ carousel which dates back to the early 1900’s.
There was just enough time for Laura & Steve to relax and mingle with guests back at the Ramada before the wedding breakfast got under way.
Most certainly the highlight of the evening celebrations was the well-rehearsed choreographed first dance to ‘All of me’ by John Legend. If Len Goodman was there he would have given one of his trademark ‘Seven!’ shouts (at the very least!)
