St George’s Hall Wedding – Lindsey & Damien

St George’s Hall Wedding – Lindsey & Damien

I arrived at the Liner Hotel, Liverpool to cover Lindsey’s bridal preparations (make-up & hair), and found a very happy bride-to-be remaining relatively calm despite the hustle and bustle that surrounded her, with family and friends busily getting ready for the big day ahead.  Within an hour of me arriving, we were on our way by taxi to 30 James Street – The Titanic Hotel so that the wedding party could complete their preparations, changing into their wedding outfits and making final adjustments before heading off once again to the ceremony venue….. the stunning St George’s Hall in Liverpool.

This was quite an usual wedding for me in that I would normally meet the bride & groom at least twice before the wedding day, which allows me to build up a relationship with the couple and get to know a bit about their personalities.  Unfortunately, due to the short notice booking which was done entirely online, I hadn’t met Lindsey or Damien until their actual wedding day itself, but fortunately I quickly discovered they are both lovely genuine people, warm and friendly.

After the ceremony, we took the formal group shots out on the steps outside St George’s Hall, and then I spent 5 minutes with the couple to take some nice bride and groom portraits, using the ornate architecture as a stunning backdrop.  We then proceeded to St John’s Gardens to take some more photographs with Lindsey & Damien in the gardens that form part of the William Brown Street conservation area.

Lindsey & Damien made the short journey from St George’s Hall to the OSQA function rooms in a wonderful vintage wedding car, whilst I made the same journey on foot, weaving my way through the busy Saturday City Centre shoppers and traffic.

The speeches were relaxed and entertaining, with both Damien and Lindsey taking to the microphone to thank family and friends.  The children were kept ‘entertained’ by a very large and tempting selection of sweets…. so tempting I couldn’t resist sampling one of the sugary delights myself!
