Back in October I responded to a Tweet asking for a photographer to provide a portrait session with on-site printing for a charity event at ‘The Beatles’ themed Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool. I didn’t have the equipment necessary to do this, but decided to volunteer my services free of charge and worry about the details later. The Charity ‘Saying Goodbye’ provides support for families who have lost a young child; Sarah Walker and ‘Team Isabelle’ were organising a Mariposa Ball for the charity and I didn’t want to let them down for such a worthy cause.
I bought what I needed to do the event, and on the night everything went to plan as guests to the ball posed for photos in what was to all intents and purposes a mobile studio with white background and appropriate lighting. Guests could review their photo on a monitor as soon as I had taken it, and in most cases people had 2 or 3 photos taken before they chose their favourite which was then printed and framed within minutes.
Well done to Sarah and her team for putting on an what was an amazing event, raising over £4,000 for ‘Saying Goodbye’!
Here are a few photographs I took on the night:
