Caroline and Richard were married at St Cuthberts Church in Churchtown (near Southport) on the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. St Cuthberts Church is beautiful, with some great vantage points to take photographs of the ceremony. The weather was dry for the most part, and the rather patriotic Union Jack umbrella was only required very briefly after the church service.
The wedding reception was held at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa, but before we made our arrival we took a short detour to Formby Pinewoods for some scenic shots in the fabulous woodland. On to Formby Hall, and Caroline & Richard were in sparkling form as we took more photographs in and around the grounds. Apologies to the poor golfers who waited 15 minutes to take their shots in to the 17th Green! Caroline took an impromptu ride in a golf buggy, which made for some rather entertaining shots that captured the infectious fun and light-heartedness that was evident throughout the whole day.
The wedding speeches were equally entertaining, and there were no shortages of laughs (particularly during Dan’s best-man speech), and plenty of heart-felt warmth and emotion, which even as an ‘unconnected’ wedding photographer was impossible not to be moved by. The evening reception, with chocolate fountain and ‘props’ area was obviously well thought out, even to the extent that both hen party and stag party slideshows were displayed on TV screens for all to enjoy. Two lovely people, one fantastic Formby Hall wedding!
