Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book you?
Where possible, I prefer to meet up with potential clients to have a chat and get to know you. On receipt of a signed wedding photography contract and a £200 deposit, your day is officially booked. The balance is payable 1 month prior to your wedding day.
How many hours coverage do you provide at a wedding?
I provide full day coverage (including bridal prep) from 3 hours before the ceremony starts, and then finish after the first dance which is usually around 8:30pm. I have an option to stay later, taken up by over 50% of clients.
How long does it take to receive our photos after our wedding day?
I aim to complete your photographs within 4 weeks. I usually post a few ‘sneak-peek’ photos on Facebook (with your permission) within a day or two of your wedding. I will also send you a link to your online gallery so you can check on progress.
How many photos will we receive?
There is no limit to the number of photos you will receive, but will usually be around 500. All images are professionally edited.
Do you do family group photographs?
Yes, although I recommend that you keep these to a maximum of 10 groups to avoid taking up too much precious time that you could be spending relaxing with family & friends on your wedding day. I would expect 10 group shots to take up to 20 minutes to complete.
Can we print the photos from the disk?
Yes, the images you will receive will be high resolution photographs that you can print using any supplier of your choice.
Do you have back-up equipment?
Yes, I use 2 professional standard Nikon camera bodies, 2 flashes, multiple lenses, and always carry spare equipment with me in the unlikely event of mechanical failure.
How do you deal with low-light and/or bad weather conditions?
I use professional standard Nikon equipment, and I have the necessary skills to cope with tricky lighting conditions, be that low light in churches or harsh sunlight. I always have a ‘wet weather plan’ as we can never rely on the British weather!
What if I don’t like having my photograph taken?
Most people (including me!) feel uncomfortable having their photo taken. I make my couples look comfortable and natural in my wedding photographs by using my natural, unobtrusive style. I can give you some helpful hints and tips before the day. A pre-wedding or engagement shoot often helps with this by getting you used to the camera and understanding how I work.
What wedding albums do you offer?
I offer Folio fine-art albums which are just stunning. They come with a large choice of leather, silk, cotton and photo cover options, and the images are printed onto gallery standard archival paper. I also offer the contemporary MTA Madrid Albums for a more traditional look and feel.
Do I get to select the photographs for my album?
Yes, I will send you instructions detailing how you can select your favourite photos from your online gallery. I will then create a draft wedding album design for your approval.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have full public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.
