Adam & Justyna chose the exquisite Vincent Hotel in Southport as their wedding venue. Adam is the chef at the hotel, and he had plenty of well-wishers to ease his nerves on the big day. Justyna looked beautiful in her wedding dress, as her Polish family looked on with pride as she walked down the aisle to meet her husband-to-be. The ceremony had some great touches, with a couple of poignant yet humorous readings from friends and family. After the ceremony, it was time to set off to Hesketh Park and Southport Pier to take some formal bride & groom shots. My favourite photograph of the day was on the pier, with Justyna’s blonde hair catching the gentle sea breeze, resulting in a rather ‘Titanic-esque’ image.

Opened in 2008, the Vincent Hotel, a contemporary boutique hotel located on Lord Street, Southport’s main boulevard, was designed by award winning Architects Falconer Chester Hall.
Tracy & Steven had a wonderfully exotic wedding in the Caribbean in April, and wanted to celebrate with friends and family on their return to Liverpool. The couple chose to hold their wedding party at the Liner Hotel in Liverpool, and around 100 guests enjoyed a lovely evening dancing to music, eating delicious cakes supplied by Bliss Bespoke Cakes, sampling the delights of a chocolate fountain, and perhaps having a drink or two! I managed to avoid all such temptations, even though those cup cakes were calling out to me……

Congratulations to Amanda & Stuart on their wedding at Briars Hall, near Ormskirk on Easter Sunday. Amanda & Stuart are personal friends of mine, and it was an honour to photograph them on their special day, which thankfully remained dry in the afternoon.
Amanda & Stuart held their civil ceremony in the ‘Orangery’ at Briars Hall, a room designed to let in as much natural light as possible, resulting in a slightly more contemporary ‘feel’. The reception was also at Briars Hall, in the beautiful Ellerbrook Suite, which I have to say was decorated with great taste and with fine attention to detail. Stuart is a Manchester United fan and named the tables after United ‘legends’, which may not have gone down too well with some of the guests!
Amanda was quite adamant that she did not like having her photograph taken, but I am sure she will agree that the end product was worth any discomfort she felt at being in front of the camera. The bride was beautiful, and the groom ‘didn’t scrub up too badly’ (his own words!)

Briars Hall is a unique location for either your civil ceremony, wedding reception or both !

There are three main suites available for your civil ceremony or wedding reception, The Ellerbrook Suite with it’s traditional Oak Panneled Walls. This is the largest suite and can hold between 65 to 170 guests. The Stones Restaurant, this is within the original building and is a little smaller than the Ellerbrook Suite and has enough space for a round 40 to 100 guests. Then there is The Orangery. The Orangery faces south and has been designed to let as much natural light in as possible giving a slightly more modern feel. The Orangery has the advantage of partion doors that open on to the terrace and is ideal for smaller weddings and is very popular for civil ceremonies.
Congratulations to Audrey & Derek on the occasion of their marriage on 31st March. They were fortunate enough to enjoy the tail-end of the unusually fair weather we had in March, marrying on a warm-ish and dry Saturday afternoon at Briars Hall, near Ormskirk. Whenever we are photographing weddings there we are always spoilt for choice, as there are so many wonderful spots for some great Bride and Groom shots.
Audrey & Derek held their civil ceremony in the ‘Orangery’ at Briars Hall, followed by a wedding breakfast in Stones Restaurant. The speeches were highly entertaining and reflected the happy couple’s lively sense of humour and warm nature. Well, I suppose Leeds United fans need a sense of humour to get by!

Congratulations to Angela & Vinny who were married today on a (mostly) dry January afternoon at All Saints Church in Anfield, followed by a meal at the beautiful Alma de Cuba in Liverpool. Alma de Cuba is a spectacular restaurant and bar; an island in the heart of the city, an independent spirit that leaves a lasting impression. Set inside the magnificent conversion of the former St. Peter’s Catholic church, the venue provided a great setting to take some lovely photographs after the ceremony.

Alma de Cuba is situated in the former St Peter’s Catholic Church on the south side of Seel Street in Liverpool. The building is itself an iconic destination as it is the first church in Liverpool to be turned into a social venue.
The church was opened on the 7th of September in 1788. It served as a Catholic building for 188 years until 1976, after which it served the local Polish community for a short time. For this reason it is still today affectionately referred to as the Polish Church.
If you are holding your event at Alma de Cuba, then please feel free to call us on 07930 324 572 to check our availability. We can the arrange a free consultation to discuss your requirements further.
Alma de Cuba is an eclectic mix of Cuban, Hispanic and Latin American influences that are enhanced with Liverpool’s great spirit.

This shot shows off the bride’s amazing smile and captures the infectious happiness of the occasion.

I love this candid photograph of the bridesmaid! Whilst it is possible to ‘manufacture’ great wedding photography, I often find that it is the un-posed natural shots that prove to be the most pleasing to the eye.
